
NY Times. Would Heidelberg be a role model for Canadian cities and municipalities? It appears to set a bar for elected officials doing something other than doggedly insisting that the worn out policies and economic models of the past are solutions for the problems created by those same strategies and model. Heidelberg’s initiative is all the more impressive given the length of their past and history compared to the relatively recent historically short blip that is Nanaimo. If Heidelberg can recognize the change necessary for a sustainable, livable future – and move towards actualizing it – why can’t we? [ARTICLE LINK]
