
Macleans. Michael Sandel’s “The Tyranny of Merit” may well be one of the defining explanations of what has happened over the past 100 years leading to where we are today. If you look past the references to and context of the US ,in this interview with “MacLeans”, his comments provide equally valid descriptions for places like Nanaimo and across Canada where the underlying accepted credo is: if you’re rich and successful, assume you accomplished it all yourself and you have a right to all of it; if you’re not, that’s also your own doing and you got what you deserve.
