The Guardian. As a context for International Women’s Day tomorrow, March 8, this editorial is a reminder that recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic is not just about getting businesses and economies restarted. It’s about recovering in a way that removes imbalances and promotes a true equitable sharing of community and its resources. As the editorial points out in detail (and with a multitude of links provided), there is little cause for celebration, especially when the pandemic has amplified the inequalities faced by women. We hear many calls for addressing economic imbalances as we rebuild after COVID-19, but this one is more basic. How can we argue ethically against the one and not also work full out to combat the other? [ARTICLE LINK]
